Quick Way to Save Money

The So-Called Envelope Stuffing

Look through the newspapers or employment websites and you are sure to find a number of offers asking you to stuff envelopes and make money. There are a lot of people who have believed this advertisement. It may be possible to make money from doing this, but many people lose money instead. You can save money by this process as well? Hold on to the money you do have, rather than trying to earn more. Forming good habits may be a result of following these tips after a while.

I Do Not Have Enough Money

Many people are in debt due to a lack of savings, and if you ask them why they do not have any savings, the most likely answer you will get is “I do not make enough money to save”. Even those who are making more than the average income are still buried in debt. How could this happen? Saving money is impossible when they cannot manage their finances. If you want to stuff envelopes, try this method to save money. By making this activity a habit, you will be saving money regularly.

Just a Habit

Before you get started, you will need some envelopes and a pen or pencil. When you get your paycheck for the month, do not just deposit the check in your account. Get to the bank and cash your monthly check instead. Once you get home, make a budget for the current month. Envelopes will be required for all expenses on your budget, before stuffing the money into it. Your entire grocery budget goes into one envelope. Likewise, the rent money goes into another and so on. Every expense from your budget should be listed on each envelope you put money into. Dividing your payments into two and stuffing them into envelopes will help, if you receive bi-weekly wages. Consider yourself well on your way to start saving your money.

Using Money Wisely

Once you have stuffed the envelopes based on estimates of expenses, be prepared for your actual expenses differing slightly from your estimates. Make a note of the actual expense on the envelope, whenever you open an envelope for any expense. The times you do this, as the money decrease, you will get a good idea as to how much you have left. Any substitutions from one envelope to another will destroy this entire activity. Please do not borrow from another envelope if one runs out. Instead, cut down on that expense. The rent and utilities will leave your envelopes empty from the start, as these are not estimates by any means. Do not withdraw any money you deposit into your account when you get paid next. You may only withdraw your paycheck but not the money that was saved. Get into the habit of saving money, even if you do not think you have enough money momentarily. Use of your debit or credit card consistently will not let you see where your money is going; this will help you in a more concrete manner. Keep up with this habit over a period of time and you will be well on your way accumulating some savings in your account.
